Mathruchhaya Foundling Home

Mathruchhaya – meaning “ Protective shade of Mother ”, was started in the year 1965.

The name was considered ideal for the Society's orphanage as well-the very name signified compassion for the less fortunate ones, concern for their problems and conscious efforts to alleviate them. 




Mathruchhaya has given rise to different projects

 

  • Adoption : Finding homes for orphaned children.
  • Elders' home :Providing residential accommodation to persons aged above 60 years.
  • Educational Sponsorship : Giving financial help for deserving students from economically weaker sections of the society, to pursue studies.
  • Counselling : Pre-adoption and Post-adoption counselling, child guidance, family counselling and rehabilitation of differently abled people.
  • Day Care Centre : Providing day care service for children of the employees.
  • Braille Resource Centre : Centre is engaged in transcription work of English and Kannada medium text books and general books into Braille for the benefit of visually impaired. The transcribed books are donated to various institutions ,schools run for the visually impaired and  other Visually Impaired persons.



It is an autonomous body sustaining on public
donations for all the developmental activities.
